Gerth family (DNA Haplogroup I (M170): Friedrich Gerth of Baden, Germany: born 1843 died 1900 in Cincinnati, Ohio. Friedrich's wife, Wilhelmina Hammacher was also from Baden, Germany. They had eleven children of which Gustav David Gerth Senior was one. They immigrated to the US on May 22, 1887, Antwerp to New York. Friedrich's father was Bernard Gerth b 1814 in Baden Baden. Bernard's wife was Caecilia (unknown last name.) Bernard's father was Joseph Gerth born ca. 1787 near Buehl, Baden. (Buehl is 15 kilometers west of Baden Baden) Joseph was married two times: first to Maria Anna Schandelwein on August 20, 1806 and secondly to Genovesa Gartertum on November 24, 1813. Both marriages were performed at St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Buehl, Germany. (Note: St. Peter and Paul is listed as the earliest Catholic Church in the area dating to 1148. Roman milestones, extensive coin finds and pots indicate an early Roman settlement around Buehl).

Daniel was born in Tennesse in 1812 and was a minister in Fleming County, Kentucky ca 1850. Zachariah's father and grandfather were William Phelps born in Kentucky in 1816 and Zachariah Phelps born in Virginia in 1779 respectively. Both were born ca 1720, John died in 1794 in Halifax County, Virginia. They had two sons: William and John and daughters: Sarah, Jane, Betsey, Milley, Francis and Patty. It appears that this line of the Phelps family arrived at an early date in Virginia, are the decendants of John and Sarah Phelps and had land holdings in the following Virginia Counties: Charles City, Northumberland, Lancaster, Essex, Isle of Wight, Surry, Orange, Brunswick, Halifax and Accomack. John arrived on the Temperance in 1621 and served Sir George Yeardly. John died in 1655 and is the son of John and Elinor Phelps. John Senior died during an Indian raid along the James River in March of 1622. John Senior, born ca 1580, is likely the son of Thomas Phelps who arrived during the second wave at Jamestown in 1608.
Billiter family: Elijah R. Billiter son of Elijah Billiter both from Grant County, Kentucky. Elijah R. Billiter was born in 1866 and died in 1933 in Cincinnati, Ohio. Elijah R. Billiters's wife was Lucy Schweitzer born in 1866 and died in 1929. Elijah, born in 1830, was the son of Joel Billiter of Stokes County, North Carolina. Joel was the son of Zebediah Billiter listed in the Stokes County 1790 census. Zebediah served with Captain Joseph Richardson in a Caroline County, Maryland company during the American Revolution. Zebediah is a decendant of Joseph and Elizabeth (Fuller) Billiter who resided in Talbot County, Maryland and Essex County, Virginia in 1670 and 1684 respectively.
