Notes for Richard Prickett:
As the story goes, Richard Prickett was captured at the age of fourteen by Indians while in Pennsylvania and never returned to his white family. Richard is found in several government documents as being an interpreter.
In the 1820 census of Brown County WI., Richard is found with his family. He is then found in Winnebago County in 1840. He is enumerated with 2 males less than 5 years old, which I believe to be William and Richard Jr., 2 males between 5 and 10, 1 female 15 to 20 y.o., 1 female 20 to 30 y.o., and a female that is between 30 and 40 y.o.
The 1849 Mixed Menominee Blood Census Roll lists Richard Sr. as receiving $50. for each of his children, Richard and William.

Wa-Saw-Mo-Quaw was a full blooded Chippewa.
