I have been researching my father, Elmer Russel Gesner's ancestry. He is one of the many decendants of Major Abraham Gesner, who first came to Canada in about 1796 as a British loyalist, from New York. He was decended from John Hendrick and Elizabeth Gesner who arrived in New York June 10 or 12, 1710. He was also decended from Dominie Everardus Bogardus, the first minister of the New York Dutch Reform Church.

My resources range from research done by my father before his death in 1957, internet sources like rootsweb.com, ancestry.com, genealogy.com and the Family Tree Maker CD's, as well as government archive sights. Many individuals have contributed information from their research as well. A hearty thanks goes out to people like Rod Coates, Joan Hayes, Bette Law, Linda Cooper, Eva Hicks, Ernie Gesner, and many more who have been willing to share what they have found.

My research includes the names Gesner, Dickie, Biggs, Steadman, and many, many more.
