Elihue was from Kentucky, he had been in the area around 1820-21 when Missouri became a state. Elihue had helped survey the state into sections. He had also heoped move the Indians to Kansas/Oklahoma and helped haul provisions from St. Louis to Kansas to help feed the Indians.
