Settling 1st in the Forks of the Chariton River, then removing to the vicinity of Westville, Missouri, where made permament home. When Mexican war broke out, Isaac and brother and 2 sons, Claiborne and Simpson, enlisted at Levenworth, Kansas, in a Missouri regiment of Mounted Volunteers, going to Santa Fe, New Mexico, where they served under Sterling Price, till the close of war.
