Ambrose Amburgey (son of John Amburgey Jr. and Elizabeth Hammonds) was born February 24, 1792 in Roaring River, Wilkes Co, NC, and died September 24, 1875 in Little Carr, Letcher Co, KY. He married Rebecca Francis on May 05, 1873, daughter of Thomas Francis and Jane Hammons.
