President Franklin Delano Roosevelt was my 8th cousin once removed. Oliver Wendell Holmes, Justice of the Supreme Court of the United States, was my 4th cousin 5 times removed. Thomas E. Dewey, Governor of NY and twice candidate for the President of the United States, was my 7th cousin once removed. Benedict Arnold, United States Revolutionary War figure/traitor, was my 3rd cousin 6 times removed. Eli Whitney, Inventor of the Cotton Gin, my 5th cousin 5 times removed. Shirley Temple, Child Star, my 7th cousin once removed. Dina Merrill, 6th cousin twice removed. Harriet Beecher Stowe, author of "Uncle Tom's Cablin," my 6th cousin 4 times removed. Zelda Sayre, author, ballerina and painter (wife of F. Scott Fitzgerald - novelist of "The Great Gatsby") is my 10th cousin 5 times removed. ---- Famous "Kin" -- My husband Ray is related to the following: Robert Stewart II King of Scotland and Elizabeth Mure Queen of Scotland were the 18th great-grandparents of Raymond I. Gibson Dolley Madison, wife of President James Madison, was 3rd cousin 6 times removed of Raymond I. Gibson James Buchanan, 15th President of the United States, was 5th cousin 4 times removed of Raymond I. Gibson Jesse Woodson James, Outlaw, was 6th cousin 3 times removed of Raymond I.
