Find Family
Erastus Gibbs, Mary Prutsman (Prutzman Protzman, Brotzman), Eliphalet Rodeffer (Rodefer many different spellings) , and Rebeca Coltrin tree This is very much an act of love. I am trying to research my family tree. I have gotten information from my family from online sources and a lot of foot work. I am in the process of finding hard facts. If you can help it would be much welcome. Check out the pictures and tell me if you know who they are. This is something that I have found very rewarding. There are other names in my tree. Please feel free to ask about them.

I have gotten stuck on an area in my tree that I seem to not be able to get past. ERASTUS GIBBS. As many Erastus Gibbs as I have found you would think that I could get someplace but all I do is hit dead ends. There has to be one of them related but how. He is my stumbling block. He was born abt.1821 In New York? Married Rebecca Coltrain in Lorain co. Ohio had 5 children Christiana Gibbs (ZEA) 1845-1929, Ellen B. Gibbs (HYDE) 1847-1932, Mary Gibbs (ROYCE, ?) 1849-?, Charles Wesley Gibbs (married:TILITON, SALLY?, and Luiza or Louise McKINNEY) 1853-1838, And George W. Gibbs (married Mary May Prutsman) 1857-1888. Erastus Moved to Illinois around 1850 LaSalle co. Area. Where He just Vanishes. His wife died in 1866 in Lasalle co. and that is the last time have any info on Erastus. His children moved on out and around Illinois. I think I have found where he had at least 3 more children from another marriage. This is just speculation, Willie born abt 1865, Bertie born about 1870, Albert born abt 1873, and Nellie born about 1880. The mother to these children could have possibly been Mary Halton. If the names come close or this is close to anyone's story HELP PLEASE.
