This research includes the ancestry of my family commencing with the fourteenth century. Several ancestors landed on the "Mayflower" at Plymouth Rock in the year of our Lord, 1620. Our family, which grew to nine moved across the United States and Canada many times. We entered a new environment (and house) 24 times from 1954 through 1995. Our lives transcended the Depression, World War II, the Korean Conflict, the tragedy of Vietnam, and Desert Storm. Several historical persons are found in my ancestral lineage, to include the first governor (William Bradford) of the "Mayflower Colony", Deborah (Bradford) Samson of the Civil War, Colonel Ethan Allen of Fort Ticonderoga, our 18th President, Ulysses Simpson Grant, our 26th President, Theodore Roosevelt, our 32nd President, Franklin Delano Roosevelt, Anne Bonney of pirate fame, US vice president Aaron Burr and the Wright brothers of Kitty Hawk, North Carolina. I wish to particularly thank my cousin, Jeannie Winter, with whom I share the same great grandfather, Alpheus Eggleston. Without her, I could never have connected my Eggleston side with those of the Mayflower, circa 1620. Thank you, Jeannie for your magnificent ability to research our antecedents. You are a genealogist extra-ordinaire! Jeannie's web site is http://members.aol.com/jwinter588/JWinter588/HomePage.htm. I also thank Randy Palmer, the Else's (Willis and Joel), Linda Finley, Cheryl Taber and my brother, John who added many anecdotes to the faces of our ancestors.
