My first command after graduating from OCS. RCT was an all black Combat Team (except for it's officers) and I commanded a platoon in Company "A" at Sand Hill, Fort Benning prior to reporting to duty in Austria.The design depicts the stone fort at El Caney, Cuba, famous in the unit's combat history. The stars signify service in the southwest Pacific during World War II. Red and blue are the colors for artillery and infantry.
