Find Family

This Giffen Descendents Home Page is designed to provide information and to receive data concerning the descendents of Robert Giffen and Mary Bane Giffen, settlers at Big Spring, Pennsylvania, in 1777.

If you are in the region, you must visit the graves of Robert and Mary Bane. It is located in an obscure wooded area, about three miles from the entrance to Ogelby Park, West Virginia, which is near the city of Wheeling. Drop me an email and I can give you more precise directions.

I have been using Family Tree Maker's Genealogy software for a number of years and appreciate its capacities. I have more than 7,000 names in the database. The major original source is the "Giffen Genealogic Family History" written by Rev. J. W. Giffin, DD, Cleveland, Ohio, 1927. Please send me genealogical data related to any of the branches of this great family!
