What we know for sure: 1.) Rufus Mitchell Gillihan, b. abt 1851 in Smith County,TN; m. Mary J. Wood 2.) William Howard Gillihan, b. 1882 m. Parlee Malone 3.) Jenkins (Red) Gillihan, m. Inez Fortner 4.) Howard Glover Gillihan, m. Alice Bojanowski What we don't know: We have not been able to prove Rufus Mitchell Gillihan's parentage. Speculation is that he was born of William Gillihan and Arena Bush from Barren County, KY.
