The Bower Family from Rhode Island to Georgia and beyondUpdated March 17, 2003 | |
| I am researching the Bower/Bauer family. Tradition says they were Dutch cheese makers from Holland. John Bower from Holland was a sculptor of fine marble. He settled in Providence, Rhode Island and married Honora Jacobs. Their son Isaac, born in 1783, went to Georgia and married Frances C White of South Carolina. Much of the information in this family tree came to me via ancestors by Dixie Bower Smith, my sister. Some of the Bower family information was provided by William Hand of Bainbridge, GA and Laura Stotler of Valencia, CA. My thanks to all of them. I am also, researching Stone, Gilliland, Craighead, Keator, Boatwright, Shadoan, Marble, Sharp, McKnight, and Schoville. Additional information anyone would like to contribute will be appreciated. Also, I am willing to share the information I have. |
