| VERSELE, John (Ivo) was born in Belgium in November 1833, he came to the United States in 1865, in 1866 he married Mary PERSMAN, she was born in Belgium in January 1845, she came to the United States at the age of 10 in 1855. They had 9 children, Mary, Peter, Louise, Emma, Francis, Rose Ethyl, John Jr. Maude and May. Mary VERSELE married John W. VICK, from them, these families descended: SMITH, SERRA, DULZ, CONKLE, CRANDALL, FORAN, PENN, and SLAVEN. Peter VERSELE married Lillian Emelia DOW, from them, these families descended: GILLESPIE, LENA and CORBEILLE. Francis VERSELE married Ada Margaret Fair, from them, these families descended: RANKIN, LEIGHTON, ENRIGHT, ROGERS, VOSS, HEITCHUE, BOUTROS, BUTLER, BRUMBY, PETERS, DeCLERK, RAEB, BIANCHINI, POWSER, KONATH, FOWLEY, FARLEY, PETSCH, POWELL, SCHROEDER, SIMIONESCU, SZLACHETKA, STROHSHEIN and VERSELLE. Louise, Rose Ethel married to Glenn R. VANDAGRIFT, and John Jr. never had children, also Maude and May, I think died as children. ***************************************************************** ***************************************************************** I am also researching the following: James GILLESPIE Family, Margaret LEISHMAN, Robert RANKIN, James THOMSON Family (immigrated to the United States in the early 1920's, James and Elizabeth's youngest son is the famed baseball player Bobby Thomson), William BLACK Family, CAREY, Agnes DUNCAN and NAISMITH, these families have descended from Glasgow, Scotland.
