Their son William Gillis b. 1821 New Brunswick married in 1847 to Catherine McKay b. ca 1827 in Scotland, d/o Archibald McKay & Isabella (Moore). In late 1850's, family moved to Mansfield Twsp., Pontiac Co., Que. Son William Jr. Gillis b. 1848 married in 1880 to Mary Elizabeth Estella Stephens b. ca 1862, d/o William Stephens and Ann (Byers).

Daniel Stauffer b. 1726 in Palatinate, immigrated to PA in 1737 on the Virtous Grace with mother and 3 brothers: Johannes, Christian (Christoph),and Mathias? (women and children under 16 years not listed on passenger list). Married Susannah ? in 1747 and settled in Lancaster Co., PA, near Lititz - known sons: Abraham, Christian and David. Abraham Stauffer b. 1748, eldest son of Daniel & Susannah, married Elizabeth Zug ca 1780. Many of their descendants emigrated to Canada, Waterloo Co. area, around 1805.

STEPHENS Family - from Ireland
Captain John Stephens b. ca 1798 in Wexford Co.,Ireland immigrated to Canada ca 1827 and settled in Ottawa Valley (Quebec), Canada. He was married to Anne Sealy. During his military career was in India for 4 years and was one of Guards of Napoleon I on St. Helena Is. Had cousin named General Sir Oliver Nicholls.
