| We are researching Jacob Jordan b. 1764 in Loudoun Co., Va father was possibly Peter or Patrick Jordan, his mother Mary Shull. He married Mary Ann Shriver in 1785. They had 9 sons: Adam, Peter, Garrett, Abraham, Jacob, Issac, Elija, John and David. Two daughters Sarah and Elizabeth. In 1805 they moved from Greene Co., Pa to Ohio near Cambridge. Our line is Adam born 1785, m Anna Maple about 1803 moved to Ohio and William was born there. He married in 1827 Chloe Downey b. 1810 Harrison, Oh. They had Abraham b.1836 and 6 other children. Abraham m. Priscilla Reed in 1860 Noble Co., Oh. She was the daughter of Benjaham Reed and Rebecca Talley. Our grandfather Bonam Whitefield Jordan was born in Noble Co.,Oh Sept 21, 1861. They moved to Casey, Iowa in 1863. Abraham died in 1878 leaving Priscilla with 3 very young children to raise. Bonam moved to Washington and married our grandmother Hattie May Reeves b. 1880 in Feb. of 1897. Our father Merrill Bonam Jordan was born Feb 11, 1898 near Colfax,Wa.The other surnames: Shriver, Talley, Stille, Foulk, Wheeler, Vandever,Grubb, Maple, Downey, Cox, Tracy, Gunn, Merriman, Poulson, Shull, Reed, Bonam, Perkins, Kyn, Reeves of Mo. Albert, Franklin S. Reeves, Stephenson of Mo. Olof Perrson Stille came to New World from Sweden in 1642 on the Charitis. He was the first known of our ancesters to arrive. There is several books that writes of Olof in New Sweden. The Talleys probably, English came to the New World about the time of William Penn's one and only visit. THE TALLEYS OF DELAWARE by George Talley was written and published about 1900. The Vandervers were Dutch and the first ancester was a soldier for the Dutch colony in the 1700's. The Grubbs were from England with history back to about 1530s. The first Grubb here married Frances Vane. John Foulk was possibly from England. The Downeys were from Donagal, Ireland and came here about 1790s We are looking for the book THE GENEALOGY OF JACOB JORDAN AND MARY ANN SHRIVER written about 1968 by the Jordan Family Reunion Comm. of Iowa. |
