The Gillbanks Families of Furness

This is an ongoing search to trace the origins of the Gil(l)banks family of Furness, namely Isaac Gillbancks, who also used the name Banks. The first evidence we have of Isaac Banks was the Baptism of his son Thomas in 1725 while living at Town End, Broughton in Furness, the IGI has Isaac as being born there about 1699, but I suspect he was born before that date,however there are no records of any baptism or marriage for Isaac in Furness, or the surrounding areas. The descendants of Isaac and his wife Margaret are now dispersed across the UK, there are also branches in Canada, New Zealand and Australia, to name a few.
