| I am researching the McComb/McCombs of South Carolina ANDREW MCCOMB of Old 96th District/Abbeville District SC was born c. 1755. He married REBECCA FOSTER. Andrew appears to have contibuted to a building fund of HOPEWELL PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH (now McComick Co. SC) in 1778. Andrew appears to have carved the stone marker for Catherine Calhoun and 22 others who were killed in the Long Cane Indian Massacre in Feb 1760. Catherine Calhoun was the grandmother of John C Calhoun. Children: Major John, Andrew Jr, William, Martha, Rebecca Researching all McComb/McCombs in SC. Trying to connect Andrew with George and Rebecca McComb who arrived in Charleston in 1760's on ship Earl of Hillsborough and James & Mary McComb who arrived on ship Falls in 1760's in Charleston.. |
