Pederson/Gudbrandson Family

My Grandfather Iver Pederson was born on July 23, 1851 at Brandbu, Norway. He lived on a gaard called Blegen and the name of their small farm was Dahlberg. His father's name was Peder Pederson Blegen; he ued the name of the gaard in addition to his name. My gradfather had three brothers and two sisters who came to this country, one brother returned to Norway. After all the children were here they wanted their father with them so he emigrated from Norway and joined them. Iver and his father were shoe makers.
Martha Gilbertson, my grandmother was born on July 25, 1850 in Brandbu, Norway. Her father was a woodworker, he made furniture and wooden implements fot the neighbors. He owned a small farm which he lived on.
Iver and Martha were married on November 25, 1873 and in 1881 the immigrated to the United States. When they got to the United States they lived in Menomonie, Wisconsin for one year, then they moved to New Richmond, My grandmother died in 1919 and my granfather lived there until he died in 1932.
My grandparents came to this county because they thought life would be better here and I guess it was. They were doing well in Norway but said he was always better off here then he could have been over there.
