* The MA Vincent Gill Family Home Page*

Updated September 6, 2000

I am researching the MA Vincent C. Gill family tree. The earliest-known Gill I have onfo on is Michaell Gill of Charlestown(e). He was born around or before the 1670s, but WHERE? He married Relief Douse of Charlestown(e) May 26, 1696, and he attained the rank of Lt. Colonel. Was Michaell Gill born in America or was he an immigrant? If born here, who were his parents? He and Releif had 10 children, 4 of whom died young. His son (Capt.) John Gill is my connection to Michaell. He married Elizabeth Abbott of Boston. The Vincent Gill family goes back to three Mayflower Pilgrims through connection w/ the Paine and other lines.A FEW other relevant early MA lines: Atkins, Baldwin, Bradford, Brewster, Clark(e), Dillingham, Freeman, Hopkins, Keyes, Mayo, Merrick (Myrick, Mirick), Paine, Prince (Prence), Rich, Sears, Snow, Watson, Wheelock.I also seek information on my French-Canadian line. I know very little. Great-gradfather Francois (Frank) Saulnier was born about 1854, and emigrated to Worcester, MA from Rimouski, Canada. His 2nd wife, Marie (Cecilia) Landry (born about 1862), also hailed from Rimouski and had settled in Worcester, MA. I would like very much to find out who their parents were, so I can hopefully start to go further back in these lines.Any help/info on these lines would be greatly appreciated.
