Patrick and Margaret Milford-brother & sister born in Kilarny, County Kerry Ireland.
Margaret Milford married Patrick Dooley(a Catholic). They had six children. Margaret and her brothers and sister were raised by a Grandmother after their parents died.
Margaret Dooley( daughter of Margaret Milford & Patrick Dooley) married Charles Sweeney in Ireland and moved to Belstine England a coal mining town sometime in 1840 or 50. They had four or more children:The four I know are Mary, Ellen(born 1874 England), Felix, and James.
Mary (daughter of Margaret & Patrick Dooley) married John Ledington in Belstin England. They came to the US for a short while and then returned to England. They had seven children: William, Ellen(Nellie), John(Jack), Thomas, Charles, Joseph and Margaret.
James (son of Margaret & Patrick Dooley) married Margaret Chadwick. James worked in the machine shop with brother Felix.
Felix (Son of Margaret & Patrick Dooley) married Catherine McGowan. They had eleven children:Joseph, Margaret, Helen, Katherine, Francis, Charles, Felix, John, Mary Alice, Eugene, and James Albert.
James (Son of James & Margaret Chadwick Dooley) is my Grandfather. James Albert Sweeney married Agnes M. Blanchard. They had eight children: Mary Catherine (known as Katherine), Felix, James, Charles, Eugene, Thomas, Agnes Marie, and Francis.
Mary Catherine Sweeney is my mother. She married Leo P Redding. They had eight children.
They lived and died in England The Father Charles died in England. The story: died of a broken collar bone, falling off a ladder while working at the Waterford Estate. Margaret became a Catholic. She lived in Lowell on Fayette Street and Died on Perry Street at the age of 86.She is buried in St. Patrick's Cemetry.
Charles Sweeney had five brothers and sisters, some of their names are Mary, Helen, and James. James and Charles were born in County Mayo. James came to Lowell, Ma. in the US and died at the age of 96. A sister of James and Charles came to Lowell Ma in the US and married a man with a last name of McGrail.
