| Our family tree so far only spans about 5 generations of the Gilby family, going back to about 1850 in South Yorkshire. This page, and the current depth of the tree, owes much to my paternal grandfather, Reginald Gilby, who documented much of the information before his death in 1992. I've expanded the tree, but mostly with the recent generations and other trees through marriage. As a labour of love, it still suffers from the genral lack of time to dedicate to research beyond the present ancestral level. I hope that by opening up this tree, it may spark some input form others - not to save me effort - but by linking with other hitherto unknown parts of the family.
