Researching Gillet, Gillett, Gillette Migration Virginia > Alabama > Clark County, Arkansas by 1866 Daniel C Gillette, b. abt 1842, in Alabama. Married Amanda Randal(?) in 1866 in Clark County. His first appearance in the Arkansas census is in the 1870 census. His father was born in Virginia. Also searching for any descendants of James Gillette, grandson of the above Daniel, who moved from Arkansas to Chicago in late 1920s-early 1930s, d. 1969 James N. Gillette, b. abt. 1853 in Missouri(?) or Arkansas. Had one son, Charles, in Prairie County, Arkansas. Later moved alone to Texas and reportedly had another family there. Any information would be appreciated. Other Surnames: ATKINSON: NC>TN>AR DANIEL: TN>AR JONES: TN>AR All the latter surnames possibly came to Arkansas with the "Colonel" Bullock/Kimbrough Jones party in the 1830s. |
