Notes
Dominic was born in Davoli, Italy in the province of Catanzaro. He emigrated to the United States in 1902. He first went to Syracuse, NY to the home of a first cousin. Shortly after that he went to Bellaire, Ohio to live and work with another first cousin, Antoinette Corapi Zumpano, whose husband owned a grocery store in the 3100 block of Belmont Street. He worked there until he had to return to Italy to do his Army service and was inducted 15 October 1908 and was in service for two years. Dominic returned to Bellaire and worked at the grocery store until he went into the Army during World War I. He werved in the 6th Infantry. He left the United States for France on April 5, 1918 and arrived back in the United States on July 22, 1919 and was discharged July 31. 1919. Was awarded a bronze medal for service at St. Mihiel Meuse-Argonne France Dominic was gassed in combat and always suffered from its effect on his lungs, enough so that he received disability compensation. He stayed in the grocery business by continuing working with Zumpano and later had his own store which failed during the depression. He later was given a civil sevice job with the post office which he held until he retired. The family lived at the following places in Bellaire: 3100 block of Guernsey Street, 3026 Belmont Street and 3254 Monroe Street. They moved to Key Ridge, Ohio for a year and a half (1929-1920) The farm life was not conducive to familly life and the family moved back to Bellaire. Dominic died at home July 16, 1983 after a long illness of bladder cancer and complication from that disease. He was buried from St. John's Catholic Church and interred at Mt. Calvary Cemetary.

Ann Magistro Corapi Ann was an excellent cook and baker. She also liked to quilt and crochet and did a lot of it alone and with her friends. Many of her grandchildren now own quilts or afgahns which she made. When she went to visit her family in other cities, the children and grandchildren eagerly awaited her arrival as they knew she would soon be making bread, rolls, pasta and gnocchi and other goodies. Ann was a volunteer at St. John's Cafeteria for over 30 years and loved cooking spaghetti every Thursday. She was active member of St. John's Catholic Church and belonged to the Catholic Daughters, Catholic Women's Club, Sacred Heart Society and the Sacred Heart Society. After the death of her husband, Dominic, she continued to reside at the family home at 3254 Monroe Street until she decided to move into The Towers Retirement Home also on Monroe St. where she lived until 1988 at which time she went to the Forest Hills Nursing homein St. Clairsville, Ohio. After a while it was obvious she needed more family attention and she was moved to St. Sophias Nursing Home in Florissant, MO to be near her daughter Beatrice who lived in nearby Ferguson, MO. While at St. Sophia's she fell and suffered a sub-dural hematoma. After two surgeries it was obvious she would not recover and was moved to the Eunice Smith Nursing Home, a hospice in Alton, Illinois. She died peacefully on August 21, 1991.
