| Fall/Summer of 2007.....revisions/updates on the Gilbert line. My ancestry has changed! Contact Paul Gilbert at the listed E-Mail site for information on new Gilbert/Rhodes lines. 8/26/07 Paul Gilbert The Paul Gilbert Genealogical Collection deals with the following familiies: Gilbert, Matheny, Gerard, Kimberling, Tilford, Miller, Hicklin, Mayes, etal. Most of these families were immigrants to the east coast, primarily in Maryland, Pennsylvania, and Virginia. Migrations took them westward through West Virginia, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Iowa, Nebraska...and as far as Washington. The Matheny family was the earliest to America...the mid 1600's. The Gilbert line arrived in Frederick Co., Maryland, by the early 1800's. The Kimberling line was in Virginia by the mid 1700's. The Gerard line was in Virginia by the early 1700's. ***Update in fall/summer of 2007 on the Gilbert lineage. Peter R. Gilbert is (never was) no longer our ancestor. DNA plus accumulated papers/facts over the years (and most recently) have proved that my Thomas Gilbert, born 1808, was the son of Thomas Gilbert and Catherine Rhodes. Thomas Gilbert, born 1789, was the son of Jeremiah Gilbert and Madelina Weaver. Jeremiah's parents were Thomas Gilbert and Elizabeth ___________. All of these people resided in Frederick County, Maryland. Contact Paul Gilbert at the given E-Mail for updates on the Gilbert and Rhodes lines. Paul Gilbert 8/26/07 |
