| Welcome! My name is Beth COLEMAN GINGERICH. I am a genealogy addict. I am researching not only my parents lines, but those of my husband, too. As yet, I do not have much information on my mother's line, as she is a first generation American, her parents being immigrants from Central Europe, in the area of present day Slovakia. The surnames in this line include JAMBOREK, JANDACKA, SOPKO/SZOPKO, and VARGA. My maternal grandfather, John JANDACKA, born in Nagy Kottesso, which is now known as Kotesova, Slovakia, came to America around 1906. My maternal grandmother, Helen SOPKO, born in Bologd, which is now known as Blazice, Slovakia, also came to America in the early 1900's, although I have not determined exactly when yet. If you feel you may be related to this line, or would like further information on this line, please contact me by email. My husband, the son of Lloyd Eugene GINGERICH and Betty Lee POLLOCK, grew up in Preble County, OH. Lloyd is a descendant of John GINGERICH and Margaret Elizabeth CAMPBELL, of Butler County, OH. Betty is descended from Henry Sylvester POLLOCK and Hannah WOODRING, who married in Preble County, OH, and raised their family there. Many of their descendants still reside in that area today. I have a good deal of information on both these lines. I have another site with the ancestors of Lloyd Eugene GINGERICH. The link to this site can be found below. At present, the POLLOCK book listed below is still being edited and unavailable for public viewing, but you can email me for further information. My father, Jack Murphy COLEMAN, born 28 March 1926, Kendrick, Marion County, FL, was the son of William Carl COLEMAN, of Irwin County, GA, and Beulah Francis MURPHY, of Morgan County, KY. The COLEMAN line are descendants of Jonathan COLEMAN and Millie PITTMAN of VA. The moved into Georgia, where they are mostly found in Burke and Emanuel Counties. The MURPHY line are descendants of John MURPHY, of Dublin, Ireland. His son, John Lewis MURPHY came to America in 1744, as a stowaway. John Lewis lived for a time in VA, but later moved into KY, settling an area known as Murphy Fork, originally a part of Floyd County, presently Morgan County. The MURPHY family is still present in that same area today. Within this family, you will find the following surnames, as well as others: BEALS, BLANCHARD, BOYLES, BURTON, BUSH, CARR, CAUDILL, CLAYTON, COLEMAN, CORBETT, CRAIG, CURLEE, DEBNAM, DUDLEY, EARLY, EYRICH, FINTER, FOWLER, GOSNOLD, GREEN, HAY, HILL, HOWARD, JENNINGS, JOINES, KEENE, KEEN, LANE, LEWIS, LONG, MCGILL, MURPHY, NAUNTON, NICKELL, NICHOL, OLIVER, PITTMAN, PORTER, RANSOME, RICHARDS, RICHARDSON, ROGERS, ROWE, SCHWARZ, STAFFORD, STAMPER, SUMNER, SUTTON, TALIAFERRO, TAYE, THORLEY, TODD, TOWNSEN, TRIMBLE, TURNER, VERE, VESEY, WALTON, WHITEFIELD, WILLIAMS, WILSON, WINGFIELD The pages on this site are still under construction and editing, and therefore, files are in need of correction. Please contact me directly by email if you have information that needs to be added or corrected. I would welcome any information you have to share, and will gladly share what information I have. Growing up as one of two siblings, I always dreamed of having a big family, and genealogy research has given that to me! Thank you, Beth |
