Faustino Giron and Teodora De Leon are natives of Pampanga, Philippines. They were both born in the early 1920's in a place called Mangga in the town of Candaba. They got married in 1937 when they were both 17 years old. During the Japanese occupation of the Philippines from 1941 to 1945, Faustino was the community leader. He helped protect the community against the atrocities of the Japanese.
After the war, Faustino had to walk to Manila, some 35 miles away, to trade for the much-needed food and clothing. He was captured and tortured by the military for being accused of collaborating with the members of an anti-government group called Hukbalahap, remnants of an anti-Japanese group during the war.

His wife, Teodora, bore him nine children namely, Sabina, Fortunato, Maxima, Bibiana, Beata, Roberto, Lope, Eliseo and Victor. On December 18, 1998, Teodora died of heart failure. She was survived by her husband Faustino, her nine children, 38 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren.
