My Family- Glass, Harchar, Adams, Schubert

Hi! I am very new to the ancestor search. I am still just compiling the different geneology books that have been given to me by my grandmother. She did a lot of work with few resources. I am doing my best to back up the information I have and fill in the holes. I am a military wife and it is hard for us to meet with our families on a regular basis. So I am doing this to try to bring our families a little closer.
Right now all the research I am doing is on the computer since I am pretty much chained to the house with my three kids. I am hoping to make a trip to Missouri in November to do some archive digging.
I am currently enmeshed in the Schubert history. John Edmund Schubert came to the United States from Bavaria, Germany around 1851. He was coming over with two (unclear) brothers. The brothers and their families were put onto different ships and when they arrived in America they were unable to locate each other. These Schuberts are still lost to us, but it is one of my big goals in my research to find these people.
