John W. Pogue (son of William P. Pogue and Rachel Weems) was born 1822 in Greene County, Tenn., and died 1862 in Springfield, Missouri , During Civil War. He married Louise O'Kelley on March 27, 1845.

John W. Pogue and Wife, Louise, lived in the Macedonia community. John was killed in the Civil War and was buried in a cemetary in Springfield, Missouri. Their, children were Ira, William M. (Uncle Billy), Alice, Rachel, Margaret. Ira married Elizabeth Floyd. Their children were Joner, Ake, Dave, Lou, and Sara. Maffie, Mayme and Grace, daghters of Ake Pogue attended Stell High school.
Alice married Jerry Holaway of Goodman, Missouri. Rachel married A. J. Reed. Bessie M. (Cole) Link was a descendant of Rachel. Margaret married Jim Chamberlain and had one son, John Chamberlain.
