William P. Pogue (son of John Pogue and Nancy Wiley) was born 1796 in Greene County, Tenn., and died 1877 in Newton County, MO. He married Rachel Weems on August 29, 1820 in Greene County, Tenn.
Notes for William P. Pogue: William and Rachel Pogue came to Missouri in the spring of 1843. John W. and the rest of the children came at the same time. They lived north of Stella, Missouri on the Pogue Branch. Rachel died prior to 1850 and William married Sara Bullard sometime in the 1850's. William's will is recorded in Newton County, Mo. records Will Book, Volume 1, page 252, dated August 11, 1873/June 10, 1877. Children to have land, share and share alike to viz: Ira Pogue, Sarah McDougold, Joner Pogue, Rachel Jones. Grandchildren: William Pogue, Jr. Sarah McAdams, Rachel Reed, Ira Pogue, Jr. Alice Pogue, Margaret Pogue, children of my deceased son John W. Pogue and to Martha Stogsdale, Eliza Morris, Isom Haarmon and Dick Harmon children of deceased daghter Casndra Harmon- distribution described. Beloved wife Sarah Pogue, Land (described) 2 good sows, 4 good prk hogs, 1 cow and calf, 1 good horse, household and kitchen furniture. Son-Jones(or Joner) Pogue, my bay horse.Executors: Son Ira Pogue and son-in-law J. B. Jones. Witnesses: H.W. Horn, Josh Roberts.
