William N. Thaddeous Stevens (son of James Stephens and Elizabeth Anderson) was born March 20, 1826 in Ohio, and died November 30, 1915 in Bakersfield, CA.. He married Lucinda Elizabeth Hall on November 11, 1848 in Guernsey County Ohio, daughter of James Hall and Elizabeth.

The family moved to Bolivar, Mo. from Ohio, at the close of the Civil War. Child number five, John Spenser Stevens moved to Bakersfield, California, bringing his father William with him from Missouri. Lucinda (Hall) Stevens, wife of William, is buried at Bolivar, MO. Both William the father, and John Spencer Stevens the son, are buried in Bakersfield, CA. In 1935 when John died he was survived by two sisters, Ruth Alby Drake of Joplin, MO. and Mary "Mollie" Berry fo Bakersfield
