| This is a compilation of the Family of Gabor Gecz (Gabriel Getz) and Kata Szlis (Katherine Slish). We welcome you to view and contact us with or for information. The first to come from Hungary (before and after known as Slovakia) was Janos Gecz who arrived in May of 1893 through Ellis Island. He was followed by his son Gabor, from Turnova in 1902. Kata Szlis arrived in 1903 and joined her brother Martin in Lansford PA. At some time, the Gecz name was changed to Getz and Janos and Gabor came to be John and Gabriel. The Szlis name was changed to Slish and Kata became Katherine. |
