| This Home Page was created in May, 1998 to share information about Jacob Glass a pioneer whom settled near Loretto, Pennsylvania in the later part of the 18th century. Although it is not clear from where Jacob came many generations followed him on the farms of what is now Cambria County, Pennsylvania. Much of the historical facts know about Jacob and his decendents can be found in records of St. Michael's Catholic Church in Loretto as published by Father Kittel in 1899 as a souviner of the celebration of the first 100 years of the parish. Other data from the usual sources also contribute, such as census records, wills, and newspaper reports. Those seeking to discover ancestors may find some useful information here and are only asked to provide additional data I have overlooked, or offer corrections to that already here if needed. Also, I am actively seeking to establish ancestors of Jacob, as well as to document his journey to America. Assistance in these tasks is solicited and would be greatly appreciated.
