I am researching my great grandparents, George and Elizabeth (nee Timms) Knight who arrived in Australia on the "Mallard" in 1855 from Ridgmont,Bedfordshire, England. They had 12 children, 4 who were born in England (Alfred, James, Sarah and Charles), the rest born in Australia. I have traced Alfred, Sarah, Elizabeth, Frederick (1st one), Thomas and Frederick (2nd one). I am still trying to trace James (he may have died in England before the ship left), Charles, John (born 26/6/1855 - 2 months after the ship arrived, Mary (born 9/4/1857), William (born 8/2/1861)and Arthur(born 15/4/1864). I would love to hear from anyone with any information whatsoever. |
