Find Family
Hello fellow family historians! If anyone out there is working on the following families, I will be happy to share what information I have. (Confession: I have much more information hiding away in boxes than I do up on the computer.) -----Bunnell----- Elenor Bunnell was born in 1797 in Westfield Parish, New Brunswick, Canada. She married Joseph Fanjoy. -----Burt----- James Burt was born about 1815 in New York or Connecticut, USA. He married Sarah Ann Oysterbanks. They lived in Lewisboro, Westchester County, New York until the state put their property at the bottom of a reservior. -----Fanjoy----- Joseph Fanjoy was born about 1798 in Kings County, New Brunswick, Canada. He married Elenor Bunnell. -----Foster----- Isabell Foster was born 22 August 1812 in Kings County, New Brunswick, Canada. She married John Hixon Huggard. -----Gillis----- Ann Jane Gillis was born about 1832 in New Brunswick, Canada. She married John Wesley Myles. -----Glendening/Glendinning----- Originating in Mouswald, Scotland, James Glendinning emigrated to New Brunswick, Canada in 1816 where he married Ann Boyd and later Thankful Thompson. Later generations moved to the United States in the early 1900s. -----Green/Greene----- I believe Susan Green of Westchester County, New York, married Thomas George Hanley and had a son, Thomas Jr, around 1860. However, I have yet to find any primary sources for Susan and/or her husband. -----Hanley----- Thomas George Hanley was born about 1860 in Westchester County, New York, USA. I believe his father was Thomas George Hanley Sr. (born in Ireland or Westchester County, New York) and his mother was Susan Green of Westchester County, New York - but I have yet to find any primary sources on Susan or Thomas Sr. -----Huggard----- Originating in Kilcolman County, Ireland, John Hixon Huggard emigrated to New Brunswick, Canada prior to 1837. He married Isabell Foster. -----Myles----- Thomas Myles was born about 1806 in Ireland. He married Margaret (also of Ireland), but I do not know if they married before or after emigrating to New Brunswick, Canada, where they had children in the 1830s. -----Oysterbanks----- Sarah Ann Oysterbanks was born about 1828 in New York, USA. She married James Burt. -----Porwitzky----- Originating in Gross Monto, West Prussia (later known as Poland), August and Helena Porwitzky emigrated to Danbury, Connecticut, USA in 1908. Most of their children had already emigrated to the same area. -----Schirmer----- Frank Schirmer was born May, 1863 in Bavaria, Germany. He emigrated to Danbury, Connecticut prior to 1889, where he married Emilie Mertens and later Mary Porwitzky. Some of his siblings also emigrated to Danbury. -----Slocumb----- Margaret Pheobe Slocumb was born about 1826 in Kings County, New Brunswick, Canada. She married Benjamin B. Fanjoy. -----Whitford----- Mary Whitford was born about 1835 either in Connecticut or New York City, USA. Her parents may have been William and Ruth. She married James Burt, Jr. about 1870 and lived in Westchester County, New York and Fairfield County, Connecticut.
