Joseph Washington McCoy came from Virginia to Coshocton, Ohio with Joseph Wright on December 24, 1806. He had three wives, sixteen children and at least four step-children during his life. In his later years, he was injured by one of the horses in his stable and died as a result of those injuries in his eighty-seventh year.
