| Isaac BRADWELL (b. Abt 1795), immigrated from Durham County, England and settled in GreenTree, PA in the 1830s. His son, Jacob Bradwell (b. 1820) married Frances Silk, daughter of Thomas SILK, also of Green Tree, PA. I'm seeking information on Thomas Silk's ancestors. Further, although I've traced my direct lineage to Jacob Bradwell I'm curious about Jacob's siblings. His bothers, Isaac Bradwell and Thomas Bradwell travelled to California in the 1850s and probably died there. Jacob's sisters were: Elizabeth (Lizzie) Bradwell married James McIntosh. Mary Bradwell married a Mr. Davis. Isabella Bradwell married Thomas Rushton and may have returned to England. Margaret Bradwell married Thomas Edwards -- both of whom died young, leaving their children, Sarah Ann Edwards and Franklin Edwards orphaned. I believe Jacob's two youngest sisters were Christiana Bradwell and Sarah Bradwell. Any additional information on the above Bradwell siblings would be appreciated.%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%Henry D. Turkington DUNDAS (b.1837) & his wife-to-be, Mary Catherine Cochran (b. 1841) immigrated to NY, NY in 1863 from Ireland. They married in 1865 and settled in Brooklyn. Henry Dundas was the child of Hamilton D. Turkington Dundas (b. ABT 1800) and Frances O'Reilly, both of whom, it is believed, were born in Ireland. HENRY DUNDAS, however, was born in either East India or Borneo, so it is possible that his father, Hamilton Dundas, was either in the clergy, military, or, perhaps, in the employ of the Honourable East India Company. From which branch of Dundas does our family descend?%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%Barnabus KING received a land grant in 1780 for 100 acres on Richardson Creek, Rutherford County, NC. He was married to Priscilla ? and was brother of John King. According to the Draper Collection, Barnabus King (aka, Barnet King), his son, Abner King, and brother, John, were accused of being Tories. Barnabus died in 1783. |
