I have been researching the Gobble family and have traced our lineage through Hans Jacob Gabel, father of Johann Friederich Gabel who was born in Germany in 1701. His son Johann Friederich Gabel was born in Offenbach am Glan, Pfalz, Germany, on 12 Aug 1734 emmigrated with his father, to Philadelphia in 1739. He later changed his name to Fredrick Gobble.

I am just starting to work on my maternal lines. My great grandfather Petter Otto Gunnar came from Sweden with his wife Laura, daughter, Mary Ellen age 4,, son, Oscar and possibly a younger daughter and took up residence in Monroe County, Iowa. He applied for his first Immigration papers in Monroe County, May 16, 1881. His son Oscar, had fours sons, Kenneth, Nelson Otto, and I believe Robert and Richard, I know Kenneth and Nelson Otto are deceased, from the Social Security Death List.
My maternal grandfather was James Byerlee Mowrer. He married Mary Ellen Gunnar in about 1889 in Albia Iowa. His parents were P.P. Mowrer, and Margaret Byerlee. Margaret Byerlee was the daughter of Andrew Jackson Byerlee of Albia, Iowa.

I would like any information available on the above families, I will share any data I have.
