* Gollery (Gullery) - Henneman - Schlick - Ward, Hartmann,etc.*

Updated July 10, 2008

Note: Reports Updated as of 10/20/2003

I have included several branches of our family in the enclosed book. Since the tree has so many branches going back, I picked several and want back as far as we have traced the branch. They all come together at some point, so there will be duplicates the closer you get to today.

Updated June, 2003: We have researched and added a large number of relatives whom we have traced to our roots in Harreshausen, Germany. The family name at that time was Gullery. Matthaus Gullery b. 1801 was our ancestor who left Germany to immigrate to Baltimore in 1833, along with his wife and three children. Various Census listings show this family as Gullery, Cooper (Matthaus' occupation) and finally Gollery.

We have also established a connection to a great number of the Hartmann family in Germany.

We continue research on all of these families:
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------.
Gollery - any variation - Gullery, Gollert, Gulrich, etc. most of the known relatives born in the Baltimore, Md. area.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------.
Henneman - Grandfather Frank George. (mother's father) - born in Baltimore 1890, married Agnes Holt, b: 1893. His father John b: 1862, mother Elizabeth Litz b: 1884. Looking for info on Frank's 5 sisters:.
. . . Katherine E., married Andrew J. Miller in 1909,.
. . . Emma, married Lucien Peters,.
. . . Jeannette Mary b: 1894, married Alfred F. Witter in 1912,.
. . . Irene, married Lawrence Heimbach,
. . . Stella, married James Hartman.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------.
Schlick - Grandmother Mary Hamlton - born Balto, 1877, parents or grandparents were from Germany and Ireland. Father Nicholas, b: 1842, mother Louisa Amelia Schulte, b: 1852. Grandfather Nicholas, Sr., Grandmother Catherine Gunther. A link has been established to the FTM work done on the Schlick family tree by Jane Schlick.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------.
Ward - have extensive list of decendants of Marion E. born 1845 in Maryland, father of Robert who married Mary Gertrude Gollery in 1898.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------.
In addition, we have established the following possible connections and are searching for additional information to link these people into our tree:

Matthew Gullery who was on the payroll of Captain Nathaniel Hart's Company of Orange County Militia (North Carolina), 1777. There is a Baptismal record (1700's) but we have not found any birth, death or marriage records.

Nicholas Gullery who fought for the British in the Revolutionary War in upstate New York. Again, there is only a Baptismal record. He was very close in age to Matthew.

Wendel Gullery and his wife Catherine who showed up in the Pennsylvania Census of 1870. Their names also appeared on German Baptismal records along with a child.

John Gurley and his wife Melvina appeared in the Cumberland, Md. census records of 1870. He was born in Maryland in 1834. We also have the death record of a John Francis Gurley who died on the 29th of January, 1859 (1yr 13days old) and listed as the son of John & Melvina Gurley.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

We will be happy to share any information which we have and are really appreciative of any input from other sources.
