My maternal roots are from Cabo Rojo. Some names in my family tree are Rodriguez,Padilla,Irizarry,Montalvo,Hernandez, Ojea, Cardoza, Camacho, del Toro,Sosa, Martinez, etc.
I have obtained ancestors from the Mormon Family records, Eunice Kritsidimas' database, and Dr. Ursula Acosta. Dr. Ursula Acosta wrote a book entitled "Familias de Cabo Rojo" with David Cuesta Camacho.
The InterneTree features the genealogy of the conquistador, Juan Ponce de Leon(named the Adelantado in Spanish). He was the first governor of Puerto Rico. I am related to him via Amalia Irizarry Montalvo, my great-grandmother.
The notes I have included for some of my ancestors, I obtained from Jocelyn Hernandez Irizarry's FamilyTreeMaker online home page.
I am searching for Cayetana Sepulveda's parents who married Fernando del Toro about 1780. Maternal DNA indicates she may be related to Ana de Avila Gaitan and her mother, Luisa de Lugo Sotomayor. Ana de Avila Gaitan's father was Juan Gaitan de Avila. Anyone with information about these individuals please contact me.
Source for all info related to Juan Benardo de Sosa was obtained from Carlos Rodriguez and his home page at DeLa Rosa-Rodriguez-Family Tree for Hernandez Pastrana, Sosa DeLa Rosa, HernandezHernandez, Sosa Nieves, Betancourt Pastra..
The information on the ancestors of Diego Hernandez has not been confirmed.
