Abt. 1730 in Germany. She was born Abt. 1712 in Germany. He married (2) ANNA MARY UNK. Abt. 1760 in York County, PA. She was born in Windsor Twp., York County, PA.

Notes for THEOBALD (DEBALT / DEWALT) GUTH, (DAVID GOOD):
"Debalt Guth", with his family, immigrated to America from Germany, on the ship Glasgow in 1738. The ship Glasgow qualified at Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on September 9, 1738, with 120 men age 16 and over, and 229 women and children. Debalt gave his age as 28, putting his birth in 1710. Although the ship list only gives Debalt's name, certainly with him was his wife Anna Magdalena, and at least four children, namely Margaretha Catharina, Theobald Jr., Maria Magdalena, and one other female child.

It is understood that the name Guth was originally from Switzerland. They had moved to southwest Germany from Switzerland. Because of the many years, or even centuries, of wars with France; decendants of the Swiss Guths moved to America. In the U.S. the Guth name was anglisized to Good.

GEORGE CHARLES2 GOOD, (KARL GUTH) (THEOBALD (DEBALT / DEWALT)1 GUTH, (DAVID GOOD)) was born September 16, 1746 in Lancaster Co., Pennsylvania, and died August 16, 1823 in Franklin Township, Adams County, Pennsylvania. He married CATHARINE UNK. Abt. 1771 in York County, PA. She was born Abt. 1748 in Pennsylvania, and died Abt. 1810 in Franklin Township, Adams County, Pennsylvania.

Notes for GEORGE CHARLES GOOD, (KARL GUTH):
Was buried at the Lutheran and Reform Church Cemetery, which is now a bank parking lot. Years ago this cemetery was desecrated and most grave markers were broken from their base. In 1922 the body remains of individuals were moved to the two existing cemeteries in Arendtsville, PA. The unidentified bodies that came from the graves, with missing or nonlegible tombstones, were placed in a common grave at one of the new cemetery locations.

My brother and I (Gail Good and Don Good respectively, gggg-grandsons) have been told by our father, Orville J. Good and our aunt, Nettie J. (Good) Kilpatrick, that there were four Good brothers that moved from Pennsylvania, west. These brothers would be the sons of George Charles Good. One of these brothers, Jacob Good I, our ggg-grandfather settled in Ohio, and the other three supposedly moved further west to one or more different states. John Good would have been one of the three brothers moving futher west and the names of the other two oldest brothers, are not known at this time, 12/97. It has been told that at least one of the older brothers moved to Iowa.

John Arendt administered credits to Georges' estate on September 12, 1824. (Adams county Historical Society, Gettysburg, PA) John Arendt was the name of the founder of Arendtsville, PA.
