She was born 1786 in Franklin Township, Adams County, Pennsylvania, and died September 08, 1873 in Perry County, Ohio.

Notes for J
ACOB GOOD I:
Descendants of Jacob Good I or Jacob Good Sr., state that the four sons of George Charles Good [Karl Guth], moved west from Pennsylvania. Jacob the youngest son, settled in Ohio.

Was a justice of the peace in the time frame of 1815 to 1819. Records at Ohio Historic Society show marriages he performed in Muskingum county during this time period.

Opened Blacks' Bar, Turnpike Road, Newton Township, Muskingum County, in 1809. ( Newton Twp. assumed ) Turnpike Road is US Route 22.

At the Ohio Historic Society in Columbus I found that Newton Twp. was part of Washington County prior to 1802. I first assumed Perry Co., but found out that Perry was formed from Licking & Muskingum Counties in 1817.

Wife, Catherine (Barr) Good is buried next to her daughter & son-in-law, Elizabeth (Good) Goodlive and Henry Goodlive, at Lutheran Cemertery, Dutch Ridge Rd., Monday Creek Twp., Perry Co., Ohio. An inscription at base of tombstone reads: "HOME AT LAST".

Catherine had tried to get a divorce from her husband Jacob Good, but have found no record that it was granted. She reportedly separated from her husband and went to live with her daughter and son-in-law Elizabeth (Good) Goodlive and Henry Goodlive. She is burried next to them and not with her husband.

A Muskingum County history book, page 228, states that in 1807 Jacob Good was one of eleven men recommended as fit and proper persons to keep public houses of entertainment at their respective places in Muskingum County. (Maybe thats why Catherine left him!)

My brother Gail Good, and I have not been able to find where Jacob is burried. We thought he was buried at Woodlawn Cemetery in Zanesville, Ohio, but have not found any grave site or marker. The marker may have been stolen or destroyed by vandilism.

Purchased property in Section 25, Newton Township, Muskingum County, Ohio, June 23, 1815.
