I was born in North London to Alfred and Doris Goodwin in 1938. I have two older brothers, Alfred and Richard and a sister Doris who is younger than me. I met and married Sandra Chambers in 1965 and after a brief spell of living in my flat in Mildmay Park, N1 we moved to Wallington in Surrey. We have just moved to a bungalow after 41 years of living in the same semi-detached house. We have raised 3 children. Claire who is the eldest and has 4 children from 2 marriages. John is the second eldest and is unmarried. Mark was an odopted son. We adopted him in May 1971. Sadly, he died in 1999 when he took his own life. Our 4 grand children are Joseph, Aislinn, Jessica and Esme. Sandy and I own a 56 foot narrowboat, named Queenborough No 3. It is moored on the Ashby Canal near Hinkley. I have just recently found out that my ancesters come from Norfolk, this information was given to me by Susan L Goodwins. Incidentally I also found out that our name should be GOODWINS not Goodwin. I found that my father's marriage certificate ommited the 'S'. I am grateful for Susan with all the information that she sent to me.
