THE GOODYEAR FAMILY FROM WORCESTERSHIREUpdated August 16, 2008 | Hi, my name is Roland Goodyear welcome to my Family Tree. The Goodyear name can apparently be traced to the Battle of Hastings in 1066, but the earliest descendant I have found so far is John Goodyer 1592 - 1664 who lies in an unmarked grave at a church in Petersfield, Hampshire, but is remembered by the family crest in a stained glass window in the front of the church. Underneath is written "POSSUNT QUIA POSSE VIDERANT" which means "they can because they think they can". Hope you find my InterneTree informative. |
