March 20, 1437 William Hales leased a barn & land to John Branch called Prince place in Abington, Berkshire England. It was located on the Ock River. In 1441 King Henry 8th gave a Royal Charter to John for keeping up the road and bridge leading to Dorchester .The bridge across the Thames river linked Fulham and Abington. By 1488 John had died. On May 16 John [son of John] and his mother granted the sum of 4 shillings to Fraternity of Holy Cross. The Fraternity was to say prayers for their souls. [John l & and his wife, Advise]
