Notes for Curtis Alexander Galttana:
The 1870 census lists Curtis Galttano as "salt maker."He and his wife are listed just before the WilliamLedbetter family on the census.I believe he was employed at the Ledbetter Salt Works established by William Henry Ledbetter in 1862.
His wife died on May 31, 1878 and it is believed he died around the same time.Family stories say they both died in a smallpox epidemic leaving their 7 children orphans. The children were taken in by family members.
