KICHLER/HASENFRATZ, KRONSTEIN/MERKL, VEGH/OSTERREICHER

Hi, welcome to my Home Page, I am researching the following surnames: Kichler/Hasenfratz, Kronstein/Merkl, Vegh/Osterreicher.

It is impossible to know what brought our ancestors from Germany (or Austria or Hungary), or what route was taken, but it is believed to have been via Austria, through Hungary and then into this fertile area in Sokolovac, Croatia, south-east of Zagreb. The difficulty of tracing the route is magnified by the fact boundaries and borders between the Central European countries (Austria, Germany, Croatia, Italy and Hungary) were in a constant kaleidoscope of change. It is believed that all of these families originally came from Austria/Hungary, travelled to the former Yugoslavia (now Croatia) as well as Austria and Germany. Their descendants emigrated to Canada, Germany, the USA and Brazil.

Any and all information would be appreciated. I would also be willing to share information.
