William was born, one of three children, to Richard William andEmiline Theresa (Lloyd) Goslin, and as a child he attended WolfeIsland schools. Later he worked on farms in the Cape Vincent andClayton area until he took a wife in Ruth A. Wetterhahn the eldestdaughter of Fred and Katherine B. Wetterhahn, LaFargeville NY. Thecouple was married on 12 Apr 1925 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church inRedwood NY with the W. Rev. Harry B. Krusa, officiating. William J.And Marguerite P Thompson were in attendance as witnesses.
The couple had four sons; John Arther, Neil Walter; Richard Fred, andCharles Henry.
William worked on farms in the area until the couple purchased afarm near Belleville, NY which they operated until 1952 when theymoved to Adams.
William was a charter member of the Belleville Vol. Fire Dept. andafter moving to Adams, he became a member there, serving the villageas a fire policeman for many years. He also served as an usher for theAdams Methodist church where he had been a member for many years also.He was a member of the Watertown City Lodge I.O.O.F. #291.
William was born 10/18/1900 in Kennebec Township, Frontenac County
William became a naturalized citizen of the U.S. in 1936 atWatertown, NY in Jefferson County. He had to become naturalizedbefore his eldest child turned the age of 18 because otherwise thechild would have to become naturalized as well.

Ruth was born to Fred and Katherine Wetterhahn. Ruth attendedschools in the area until she married William J. Goslin from WolfeIsland, Ontario, Canada.
Ruth and her spouse had four sons; John Arther, Neil Walter,Richard Fred, and Charles Henry. Charles died very shortly afterbirth. The family took up residence primarily in the southern part ofJefferson county and Ruth worked as a book keeper, and a home makermost of her life.

Notes for Jay S. Thornhill:
Jay Thornhill was born Mar. 6th 1901 in Ogdensburg, one of threechildren born to Stephen and Emma Thornhill. As a child he attendedschool in the Ogdensburg NY area `til he began working for therailroad.
He married his wife Dorothy Hill of Ogdensburg, Jan. 19th 1926,and moved to Watertown shortly afterward. The couple had twodaughters; Catherine and Jean. Mr. Thornhill continued working for therailroad until he became a stationary fireman at Ft. Drum during WWII.Subsequently he worked in that capacity at the Dry Hill Air Force Baseuntil he retired in 1963.
His wife Dorothy died in 1953 and he remarried to Cecelia Martinshortly after, in May 1954, and they resided on Burchard St. inWatertown until he died in 1970.

She met her husband while working as a custodian at the UnitedHelpers Children's Home in Ogdensburg and was married to Mr. Jay S.Thornhill, Jan. 19th 1926, in Ogdensburg.
The couple had two daughters; Mrs. John A. (Catherine) Goslin, 307Gotham St., and Mrs. John (Jean) Smulkey, Westchester Co.
