Notes for JOHN HAYES:
The will of John Hayes was filed in Cheshire Consistory Court in 1597. The John Hayes referred to in the next paragraph, may be the father or grandfather of our ancestor John Hayes. Notice the reference where he fled to Cheshire during the War of the Roses (1455-1485), and where he established a family. Cheshire, England is where our John Hayes was born, and lived. "Just when the Hayes family obtained tenure to land south of the Humber River (21miles south of Aughton) is not known: the manor being at Belton in the Isle of Axholme, in Lincolnshire. During the War of the Roses (1455-1485) when John Hayes fled to Cheshire, he did not give up his right to tenure of the Belton estate.
