Spelling of name is as in the translation of the Will of Robert West.

Muster Roll of Captain R. D. Bradley's Company of the 13th Regiment, First Brigade of Florida Mounted Militia Volunteers Ordered into service of the United States by Gov. R. K. Call from the 11th day of February 1837 to the 11th day of ----1838 (for a period of 12 months).

On 13 February 1837 at San Pedro, Capt. R. D. Bradley certified that this muster roll was a true, accurate and just. D. H. Vinton also certified that he had on the 13th of February 1838 mustered and minutely inspected the above named Company of Florida Militia-------- William McLamma is listed as a Private.

KHVincent Research: Affidavit of John P. Arnold and wife Frances in their claim for pension and half pay, William died serving in the Mexican War (1846-1848), under the company commanded by Captain Robert Livingston. William, according to sworn testimony, entered into the service of the United States as a volunteer about June or July 1847 for twelve months or term of the war, but continued service until the time of his death from disease and sickness, about January or February 1848 (according to muster rolls of Capt. Livingston's company).

Original Brief of the claim by the heirs of William McClemmy, states that William died on December 7, 1847 at Veracruz, Mexico.

Archival Documents (KHV): According to a sworn statement made by Arthur West, age 52 and resident of Madison County FL, William McClamy and Mary West (now deceased) were lawfully married by Thomas King, Minister of the Gospel in the District of Horry, State of South Carolina on or about the month of October 1827. He states that he was present and an eye witness. (Arthur was Mary's brother.) This sworn statement was given in response to a pension claim initiated by the children of William McClammy to prove them as William McClamma's natural heirs.

William P. and sister, Frances Ann were to receive $3.50 per month from December 7, 1847 to December 6, 1852.
According to affidavit requesting pension monies, William P., Frances Ann and Mary E. were given Bounty Land (Georgia) on November 14th 1849. William P. moved to Thomas County GA in 1849. His sister followed in 1851.

There is a William P. Mcclauson (spelled with a ? illegible) listed on 1850 Thomas County GA Census. Occupation harness maker in the household of............ Birth place listed as South Carolina.

Roster of the Confederate Soldiers of Georgia 1861-1865 Vol. III, page 442, Georgia Volunteer Infantry, Army Northern Virginia- McClamma, William P. Private July 27, 1861. Captured at Atlanta, GA August 7, 1864. Paroled at Camp Chase, Ohio and sent via New Orleans, LA for exchange, May 2, 1865. Received at Vicksburg, MS. May 12, 1865.

Raymond Hughes: Visited Laurel Hill Cemetery, Thomasville, GA and found the grave of William Pinckney McClamma next to his sister Frances Ann Arnold. The gravestone gives name and Civil War inscription 25th Georgia Regiment CSA.
